The Harlech Scholarship
The Harlech Scholars' Trust commemorates the memory of the late Lord Harlech with the creation of an endowed scholarship between Harvard University and New College, Oxford, which is Lord Harlech's alma mater. Alternating each year, the Harlech Scholarship is awarded to a Harvard student to attend New College and for a New College student to attend Harvard. For the academic year 2012-2013, the Harlech Scholarship will be awarded to a Harvard student to attend New College, Oxford.
For Harvard recipients, the Harlech Scholarship provides an assured place as a Visiting Student at New College, Oxford, for which a separate application for admission is not necessary. The scholarship covers tuition and fees, round-trip air travel, and a stipend to cover living expenses. (In 2010-2011, the Harvard student at New College was paid a stipend of £12,000.) Students enrolled in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and students in the Senior Class of the College are eligible to apply.
The Harlech Scholarship is open to Harvard University students for the 2012-2013 academic year.
